We are now playing the waiting game!!
I'm just finishing up packing our bags for the hospital, and gathering some little outfits for Molly to wear! So all there is to do now is wait...and then wait more! I've heard all sorts of old wives tales about how "first babies" are always late. But then again, I've had other people guessing she will arrive any day now. I've been having lot's of fun "practice contractions"- but none that indicate labor So who knows!
Obviously Michael and I don't care when she comes, so long as she is healthy and ready to meet the world. I'm kinda hoping that day comes sooner rather than later though- because I'm ready to meet her already!!!
Molly does seems to be running out of room in my tummy! And she let's Michael and I know it, by moving my tummy into strange shapes. Moving to the right, and then to the left, and then jiggling up and down! It can be quite entertaining to just watch my belly move all around at night!
Michael and I met with our "doula" (like a midwife, but she doesn't deliver the baby) this past week. She reviewed lot's of labor & breathing techniques with us. And made some suggestions for the best ways for us to prepare for labor now. Trying to get lot's of rest, is high on the list. We also talked about lot's of different birth scenarios, so we will know what to expect if things change and we have to have a C-section. Our doula, Brenda is very motherly and I think she will help Michael and I both through this new adventure. What I like most about her, is that she's very reassuring. And believes that God and nature know what their doing, and that a woman's body is more powerful than she realizes. And her positive affirmations are comforting and empowering- which I think may come in handy if things get a little scary, or overwhelming!
That's all the news for now. We hope this finds you all well, and enjoying the start of a beautiful summer!
